Editorial Policy
TrailCab exists to publish useful, model-aware car-camping advice — not to push the highest-commission SKU.
Research approach
- Prefer primary specs (cargo dimensions, Wh ratings, mattress sizes) over marketing copy.
- Call out vehicle-specific gotchas (RAV4 rear seat height, liftgate clearance, etc.).
- Separate “works for a weekend” from “works for full-time living.”
- Update guides when products or model years change enough to matter.
Testing & experience
Not every product mentioned is personally long-term tested. When advice is based on owner reports, manufacturer specs, or general field practice, we say so or keep language cautious. Hands-on notes will be labeled when we have them.
Affiliate conflict handling
If an affiliate product and a non-affiliate option are similar, we still state tradeoffs honestly. Budget constraints for this project mean we start with placeholder affiliate URLs; live programs will replace them without rewriting conclusions just to fit a network.
Corrections
Spot an error (especially a dimension or Wh claim)? Email viaContact. We correct factual mistakes promptly and note significant updates with an updated date on the guide.

We do not currently host public comments. Feedback by email is enough for a small site.
